Alpha Shows & Melbourne Children's Theatre provides great jobs for young actors, a fun and stimulating environment to learn and play and a chance to perform for thousands and thousands of children.
This website has been created to assist you in becoming familiar with Alpha Shows and Melbourne Children's Theatre, from the perspective of an actor/performer interested in working with us to help create Australia's most entertaining, intense and life changing theatre for young people.
What jobs are available?
Alpha has multiple tours and seasons of various shows all year round - scroll the above pictures to see the various shows! We therefore cast for a great variety of roles, from principal boys and girls in classic fairytales & myths; as well as comedy roles, villains and character roles.
Even though Alpha is not a huge company and certainly does not generate huge incomes from producing our shows, we provide a great working environment for all our actors and a chance to perform in music theatre style productions that are the highest quality in Australia.
What is it like to work for Alpha?
The experience of working for Alpha is not easy to describe, but it is easy to say that it is unlike any other performing gig! A combination of a rock-concert, a musical theatre show, traditional pantomime, kids show, celebrity appearance, band-on-tour, big brother and production engineer gives you a bit of an idea!
